Held annually by the Central West Astronomical Society, the David Malin awards are open to Australian astronomers and photographers.
In 2022, entries were judged by previous winners Phil Hart and Alex Cherney and the overall winner was selected by world-renowned astrophotographer Dr David Malin AM.
Offering eight award categories, including an Australasian Sky Guide cover award from the Powerhouse Museum, the competition provides photographers with an opportunity to explore and capture incredible images of the sky, using their creativity, imagination and photography skill.
