New exhibition set to blow minds with world's strangest facts

Did you know that space is only an hour’s drive away? Or, that 99.9% of all life that has ever existed on Earth is now extinct? What about the fence in Australia that is the equivalent distance of London to New York? Or, that Formula 1 drivers lose up to five kilograms per race?
...These are only a few examples of what’s in store for visitors at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk from this weekend.
Showcasing incredible research and illustrative design by author Dan Marshall, Mind Blown the exhibition explores the most incredible, strange--and sometimes downright odd--facts about the world around us in large scale.
City of Launceston Mayor Matthew Garwood said locals visiting this exhibition should prepare to be blown away with amazing facts.
“This is one exhibition that will have the whole family talking about what they’ve discovered,” Mayor Garwood said.
“The facts and research on display are truly mind blowing; did you know there are more tigers living in Texas than anywhere else in the world? Or, that sharks are older than trees? This exhibition is an absolute must see at QVMAG, and better yet, it’s free entry for everyone to enjoy.”
Creative Arts and Cultural Services General Manager said the exhibition is set to ignite a while range of curiosities.
“Our team have had a great time translating the Mind Blown publication into an exhibition for the first time,” Fitzgerald said.
“We’ve had a great time collaborating with author Dan Marshall to make this a reality as part of our 2024 program.
“There’s not been a better time to explore the world of QVMAG; with another busy year of exhibitions and programs on offer throughout 2024, we have something for every age to explore.”
Published in 2019, Mind Blown is packed to the brim with incredible insights about our world, all beautifully illustrated by the author himself.

Mind Blown will be on display with free at the Museum at Inveresk (2 Invermay Road, Launceston) from 23 March – 23 June 2024.
