A Bright New Day: student documentary launches at QVMAG

A group of primary school students have developed a short film about the Invermay community as part of the City of Launceston's ABCDE Learning Site program.

The Learning Site program works with a new Launceston suburb each year to facilitate community-driven projects. In recent years the program has been hosted at Rocherlea, Ravenswood, Mowbray, Youngtown and Kings Meadows.

This year, Grades 5 and 6 students from Invermay Primary School and St Finn Barr's Catholic Primary School were assisted by filmmaking mentors Action Crew to develop a 10-minute short film titled 'A Bright New Day in Invermay'.

A Bright New Day in Invermay will premiere today at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery auditorium at Inveresk at 10am. The film will be on display to museum visitors in the auditorium until Tuesday, June 6.
